Truly afternoon naps are one of the best things in this world. Its like my mind finds peace amidst the chaos. The gentle sunlight, the sound of fan and the softness of the bed and I'm just staring at the ceiling, with no thoughts in my mind. A perfect summer afternoon. I've always admired the softness of the summer. It tastes sweet like watermelons and also adds a little sourness like lemonades. Summer feels like the perfect playlist, Ghibli movies, the time spent reading all day long, page after page chapter after chapter. It feels like trapped in an endless eternity with the sound of blue waves. One of my favorite things about the summer is "Komorebi". I hate that this beautiful phenomenon doesn’t have an English word. The Japanese word translates "Sunlight filtered through the leaves" and yes it tells everything how I feel about summer. A huge old peepul tree near my home has always been there since my childhood. I always loved watching the bits of scatterd Sunlight between it's leaves. To be exact I think it's the only tree that's casting a shadow on the road. I'm always greatful for it. The tree has been there as a witness to so many childhoods and lives in many children's memories. Another thing I love about summer is the dawn birds and the blue hours. But since I'm not an early riser I can only enjoy it sometimes. Another thing I love about summer is the Clear night sky l. The constellations are more visible and I can see a sky full of stars. Especially Orion is more visible and easy to spot. I've always been astonished by how we are looking up to the past by watching the same moon and stars that once our ancestors, the extinct species, the kings, queens, the artists and the great poets looked up to. Just like Regina Brett said " Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy, to do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds".
